Will there be a sequel to BoR? More or less. Our current project, Age of the Beast, is of the same genre as Beats of Rage. Which of the console versions is the most popular one? The Dreamcast version is by far the most popular console port. It still can't hold a candle to the PC version(s) though. What's with the character selection? I wanna play as Kyo! The current selection of playable characters actually has little to do with personal preference. These characters were simply the ones with the most appropriate animations. Did you use an existing game engine to create BoR? No. All graphics code, all sound code, all input code, all file code, all data conversion code, all timing code and all game code - for short: everything - was written by Roel, Senile Team's lead programmer. Ports to other platforms and code added to openBOR and other derived versions was added later by various programmers. Will you change the game so the characters can run? Check out openBOR (which can be obtained at LavaLit.com) or wait for Age of the Beast. What compiler did you use to make the game? The Watcom C compiler and assembler. You can download the Watcom C/C++ development tools for free from http://www.openwatcom.org/. Who made those awesome character sprites? Why, the mighty artists at SNK Playmore, ofcourse! How many people were in Senile Team when you made boR? Three. But most of the work was done by only two. Why won't the DOS version play 16-bit sound on my system? Because your sound card does not support 16-bit sound in ISA mode. Why won't the sound play at all? Because your sound card is not (properly) set up for DOS. Download BoR for a a different platform. Why can't I get the game to run? Because of your inability to work with computers. I just burned BoR for my game console and it doesn't work! What's wrong? The most common reasons would be (1) a poor quality CD-R, or (2) you burned the image as a file, instead of opening it with the appropriate CD burning software. To avoid the first problem, we recommend that you use Philips discs. Sony and Fuji are not recommended, and neither are nameless brands. Where do I get BOR.PAK for PSP? If you had read the instructions on whatever site you got Beats of Rage for PSP from, you'd already know this. Download the DOS version to get the file you seek. |
