Damaging other players

Just wondering...why was the ability to damage and grab other players enabled in Beats of Rage?  I've always found it rather annoying.  If I disabled it by default in my soon-to-be-released version of Beats of Rage that fits better on TV screens, would that be an unforgivable deviation from the original?

As a matter of fact that would be quite unforgivable. As for why, the short explanation is because it was like that in Streets of Rage. The long explanation would be some nostalgic banter with which only Streets of Rage veterans could identify. Nevertheless, it's heresy!

Now, if you'd go on to say "I want to implement the move where you can jump over a grabbed opponent", we'll forget all about the heresy and proclaim you a saint.

In Streets of Rage, though, it was a lot harder to accidentally grab the other player than it is in Beats of Rage.

But heresy is still bad, so it'll stay enabled.
