| | I mean, isn't it bad enough there's only a handful of Gatchaman games that have been made over the last several years? Off the top of my head, I only recall seeing like maybe 5 or less Gatchaman games overall not including the BotP game for the Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64. There's 2 Sailor Moon BOR games, so why isn't there a Gatchaman one? All of them are in Tatsunoko Fight for the PlayStation, which is a 2D fighting game, so it can't be impossible not to make one. |

| | I don't know who Gatchaman is, but have you considered making your own Gatchaman mod? That's pretty much the idea of moddable game engines - to enable you to create the games you always wanted, but never had. |

| | You never heard of Gatchaman? It's only one of the greatest animes ever made. It's the story of five warriors.
There's Ken The Eagle. He's the leader, I don't know what else to say. He attacked his enemies with this boomerang type of weapon that was shaped like a bird.
Then we have Joe The Condor. He was second in command. He attacked his enemies with feather-shaped shurikens and a rope gun. He was also the tough guy of the group. He had a tendency to take matters into his own hands, and him and ken got on each other's nerves every once and a while because of this. He was also some kind of cassanova. But his dates always ended on a downnote.
Then there was Jun The Swan, the female member, because you can't have a superhero team or whatever without a hot female. She attacked her enemies with this yo-yo type of weapon, and she drove a motorcycle. She's also considered the inventor of the "panty shot".
Then Jinpei The Swallow. He was a little boy. He drove this dune-buggie type of vehicle and attacked his foes with a weapon similar to Jun's.
And finally, Ryu The Owl. He was the pilot of the God Phoenix, which was the aircraft all 5 of them flew around in together. He also provided much of the comic relief in the show. One example is in Episode 6. |

| | Gatchaman was known as "Battle of the Planets" in Europe and was big in the 70's and 80's.
Unfortunately the only known video game version is a vertical scrolling shoot-em-up so it would be quite difficult to make into a BOR mod.
It's a pity really as the characters lend themselves to it quite well. |

| | I think you can grab some Gatchaman characters from Mugen to download, so you can create a(n) (Open)Bor mod out of it. It's up to you. If you want the fighting character to be in your mod to fight enemies, it's your choice. I'm just helping you to encourage yourself to do what interests you if you like. If you don't know any about Gatchaman, then I recommend you research to learn what Gatchaman is about by (i) watching the Gatchaman show, (ii) reading maybe in the Wiki(s) or somewhere whatever that's comfortable to you, and (iii) playing the Gatchaman game(s). I understand you played the game with Shmup, but at least you think of what you want it to be. Let's say for example, like you saw Ken the Eagle fight with his hands. Did he do that? I'm just helping you with ideas. I haven't watched that show yet though. |
