| | Oh the irony.
I was bored today and repaired BORRevolution, BORGens rival site that was made unusable by hackers.
Seeing as it was the first BOR-related thing I had done in 6 odd months I came to BORGen to see how things were going and the site was dead (forum error).
Guess the two sites can never be up at the same time!
Anyone know why its closing? Is there a problem with the forums? Maybe I could help?
Anyway, as for BORRev, the forums are working, all the old posts are there, the news page can be updated and posts can be made on the forums. I'd gladly take over the site now I have a bit more time, but its not my site so........
PS. Good luck to Samurai/SumoX with his new site, just had a quick look, nice design. Pity the forums can't be fixed on BORGen though |

| | Kirby2000- are you officially back on the scene? By the way, youre character editor was awsome, and I was wondering if you intend to finish it or at the very least add a saving feature. I think it would be a shame if all that work was for nothing. Welcome back.  |

No. Unfortunately I'm just this weeks guest star, I can't stay for long. I'd love to finish the character editor, but I'm still at university, so at the moment I'm spending all my time coding databases and web pages for assignments.
I only have 12 weeks left till I get summer break so I may be able to take a look at the editor then and update it to work with the latest OpenBOR, though no promises  . |

well after spending over 30 days in jail...am out,and the site has turn to shit due to admins not caring to fix it or maintain it, why have admins when they dont even try to maintain the damn place...
sorry due to life dealing me cards i did not expect i really could care less about the scene, let alone my site.
borgen is dead unless some admin wants to fix it...
right now borgen is at the very bottom of my list of things to get done,and is a very long list.... call me what you want,i dont give a shit anymore,people will say what they want anyways .
so with this i leave the scene till i am back on my feet and stable, which by the looks of it it could be over a year.

I'm sorry to hear that. But the problem at hand with the site is that none of us have access to the SQL database either thru CPanel or myphpadmin. I could only assume that you are the only one with that information as when I created my account its a service that the host company offers to me and only me. Thats where the problem lies.......... Lastly, I tried my best to bring the site back!
P.S.
I had gathered all the mods from various users (namely robot2) and was ready to upload them to your site before this happened. So don't you dare point fingers and say who isn't helpful! |

| | What information is needed to access the SQL? If its simply a case of database name, password, username, etc then could this not still be in the config.php file located in the main folder of the forum on the FTP (if you have access)

Don't worry about it, like I said, I'd love to come back to the scene, I haven't done any coding for fun for a long while. I'll try and pop in where I can, I still need to get back in contact with my BOR MSN contacts. |

You know we tried contacting you before you left about the site and you told me that you could care less about renewing the site since your contract was ending. Your words (paraphrasing now) was the site is the last thing in your mind at the moment. I understood that since of what was happening to you in the real world. So I did what anyone else would of done and that was create a new site and make it available for anyone in the bor scene to download and communicate since borrev was down. So I didn't let anyone down..... In fact I just stepped up in your absense and kept fixing YOUR site like I always did!!! Stop whining and get your shit together! |

people wouldnt take anything you say personally if you didnt throw them attitude over every silly thing. SamX did not cause youre bad life experiences. Despite what you may think, no matter how bad youre life gets, it can always get worse- trust me on this. Youre certainly not the only one in the world with problems. |
