Who will be the first to release a mod for Age of the Beast? The race has begun!

Are these completely custom?

As would I. To my understanding we soon won't even be able to make the old Duke Nukem Forever comparison any more (as it is said to be due this year).

eeeehm, maybe I completely lost my mind, but...

Shouldn't Roel and Loempiavreter stick their heads together and both create characters for AotB? Loempiavreters pixelart looks damn nice. I think his talent could be helpful?

I don't think you've lost your mind completely, but still I'm not eager to invite another pixel artist I don't know to the project - especially on the basis of only a single image. I mean no disrespect to Loempiavreter, but past events have shown that such actions usually only delay the project instead of speeding it up.

Also, a talented pixel artist I personally know will soon join the project. I expect that working together with a friend will yield better results than working with a stranger.

To be honest I would rather lead my own (mod) project.

I think Roel & the team are doing a great job, but medieval fantasy isn't my "thing", I'm sure it plays great and fun, that I don't care about the setting when i'm playing it. But when you are working on creating sprites it might not be all that fun to make stuff in a setting you don't like.

Aggro Beasts is an Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland type (think Fist of the North Star, Mad Max 2: the Road Warrior, C. Santiago PA movies, Albert Pyun PA movies, tons of Italian PA movie etc, seems to be a hype again nowadays with PA movies popping up everywhere suddenly).

Working on this Boss's attack animation right now.

I can't wait until this baby is finally released. The first boss looks sweet. Will we be able to hit that mask off the first boss character?

WIP Attack #1

In other news I have been asked by the Netherlands best Skinhead Reggae band, The Upsessions, to audition for their bass spot, since their current one is leaving...

....I hope that doesn't affect my work on this project too much, If I'll become their new bassplayer, since the Upsessions tour a lot out of the country.

Yeah, you use only 18 colours for those sprites, really fantastic work.

Looking good! However (there always is..), the spots on the camouflage pants in the idle animation don't move naturally. They seem to move independant of the pants so to speak.

Not that I could do any better, just thought I'd point it out.

I think it's perfect.

- Hey if you can keep the entire game original at this level of quality, you will be able to sell this as the first commercial mod using the AotB engine
