Engine sounds

Literally just unopened it. Game feels really nice.

But massive let down. Where is the engine sounds / noise? This is one major oversight in my opinion. Just little sense of how fast you're going.

Any ideas? Am I missing something? If not, any plans for an update with them?

Thanks!

I didn't even notice that, and honestly, I don't see how it's a fault at all. Why do you need a sound prompt to tell you how fast the cat is travelling, when you can see how fast your car is moving by just looking at it? There is even a speed metre in the bottom right, and if you're skilled enough at the game to the point where knowing the speed is vital, then you can look at it at non-demanding parts of tracks that you would of memorized.

The only oddity I noticed with the sounds is that when you drive off course, your tyres make a sound that kindof sound like a cow... although, that's probably just me.

I only released that I missed the engine sounds when I played Micro Machines for the Megadrive tonight. I also found it very difficult in terms of handling to jump between the two games. Rush Rally has very smooth handling where Micro Machines is very quick and jump(im guessing to emulate a small toy car)

Both very good games

I've just never played a car / racing game on any platform that's not got engine sounds. I would consider myself and my bro, who I would play this with mainly, quite seasoned overhead racers (Micro Machines & ATR mainly) so I think it's harsh to say we should be able to judge visually. I really want to love this but for me I like engine sounds on a race game of any kind.

I commend Senile Team for this game on a platform such as the Dreamcast. It's nicely polished and almost the game I was hoping for. Sadly, and it seems I'm in the minority, the game is spoilt by the lack of engine sounds.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

It is very regrettable that the lack of engine sounds spoils the game for you. But as a Micro Machines veteran, surely you know that the Micro Machines games had no music. I'm sure you understand that many players prefer Rush Rush Rally Racing's soundtrack over the constant buzzing of Micro Machines.

I think engine sounds would greatly improve this game. I would be more than willing to buy a revision of this.

I must be speaking from the minority as I've turned off music in pretty much every game, especially racing games.

Still, like I say, got the upmost respect for the effort on this game. Alas I just have to concede it's not a game for me. I hope that you go on to create more games for the DC and I'm sure I'll support them in the future.
